How does this integrate with our existing dining operation?
Reusables is designed to integrate into existing residential dining halls, grab-and-go stations, food courts, and catering workflows without slowing service or disrupting flow. Return stations are placed at natural traffic points, and containers flow back into your existing dishwashing process. No new POS systems, staff tracking, or line changes required.
If you already have leftover containers from a previous program, we can actually use them and fully integrate them in our system with no charge associated to it. We want to Waste Nothing.
What containers does Reusables use?
Reusables is completely container agnostic, meaning the system works with virtually any reusable container format. Whether you prefer stainless steel, BPA-free plastic, microwaveable, or non-microwaveable, we can accommodate your program's needs and your students' expectations.
For institutions that want a turnkey solution, we offer high-quality commercial-grade containers available through lease or outright purchase — every container we supply is rated to withstand 500+ commercial dishwasher cycles without degrading in quality or appearance. Prefer to use containers you already own or have sourced independently? That works too. The hardware, software, and return infrastructure operate the same way regardless of what's in the bin.
Does Reusables integrate with our campus card or dining management system?
Yes. Reusables is fully integrated with all major campus card and dining management platforms, including Atrium, Transact, Illumia and CBORD.
Students check out containers using the same card or credential they already use for dining, no new accounts, no extra steps.
What about guests or visitors who don't have a campus card?
No problem. Reusables also accepts standard credit and debit at the point of sale, meaning anyone on campus, guests, conference attendees, visiting faculty, can participate in the program with nothing more than a tap of their card. The experience is completely frictionless regardless of who's in line.
