About Reusables
A technology platform to reduce single-use packaging waste in our communities.
Plastic doesn't decompose
Globally, one million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute. In total, half of all plastic produced is designed to be used only once— and then thrown away.
Plastic and single-packaging waste is now so ubiquitous in the natural environment and our cities, we have become numb to the problem.
Our communities are overflowing in single-use plastic pollution—and it’s killing our planet.
Today we produce about 300 million tonnes of plastic every year.
That is equivalent to the weight of the entire human population. Researchers estimate that more than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic have been produced since the early 1950s.
About 60% of that plastic has ended up in either a landfill or thenatural environment.
Our Story
Reusables.com was founded in Vancouver, BC in 2021 by Jason Hawkins and Anastasia Kiku.
At the height of the COVID pandemic, we started helping four restaurants offer zero-waste packaging to their customers in East Vancouver during the lockdown when takeout was the only option.
We decided to break down the barriers of reuse and design a new solution that is reshaping the way we consume and how businesses package food.
Today, our technology is powering institutions across North America to eliminate thousands of tons of single-use waste every year.
Our vision is a world without waste.
